Tehran Institute of Technology was originally founded in 1979. In the beginning the educational activities of the institute was mainly limited to the teaching of various courses in the field of electronics, electro mechanic, TV, video and power. But very soon computer- related courses found their way to the institute. Parallel to this and in order to support its educational activities ,this institute has made a great effort to publish and provide required books since its start, as a result of which publishing department has become one of the leading and successful departments in the country. So far more than 1100 books on various topics have been published and distributed throughout the country. Initiation of web magazine was another important leap towards the establishment of information technology in Iran by the institute.
