The activities of RSTC are divided into two sections: a. products and b. services. The products of RSTC include sleepers used on the rail lines; and its services include super-structuring, rebuilding, improving and maintaining the permanent way. The following paragraph will have a short glance at these activities:

1) Sleeper manufacturing
The produced sleepers are generally of 2 wooden and concrete types. These sleepers have different types and species, among which the followings are important:
1.1. Ordinary concrete sleeper: pre-stressed sleepers, types B58 and B70, which are manufactured with various fasteners (clips) such as Vossloh, Pandrol and K, according to the requirements of clients. In addition to its capability to manufacture different types of sleepers, this company could also produce pre-cast concrete with various types of cement, and different concrete products based on the clients' needs.
1.2. Switch concrete sleeper: it is usually used for turnouts, which since long time ago the wooden types have been applied within the rail network of Iran. However, through investment by RSTC in this filed, the world's modern technology to manufacture concrete sleepers for switches was transferred into Iran and by construction and launching the switch concrete sleeper factory in 2009, became the first manufacturer of these types of sleepers in the Middle-East.


Currently, different switch sleepers of UIC60 and U33 types with diverse radii are manufactured in this factory as per the global standards and railway criteria.

The main activities of the company are as follows:

1 Production of saturated sleepers: 100000 pcs. annually
2 Production of concrete sleepers (various types): 1000000 pcs. annually
3 Production of switch concrete sleepers Equal to 4 switches per day
4 Assembling of closed line 500 km per year
5 Super-structuring of rail tracks (construction of new lines) 1500 km per year
6 Improvement of rail lines (repairing the existing lines) 500 km
7 Maintenance of permanent way Equal to 13525 km
8 Rail joint welding 500000 joints
9 Slab-track 150 km
10 Sub-structuring of rail tracks (+ relevant permanent way) 350 km
11 Designing and constructing gang cars and all the needed vehicles with bogie system applying the profession and experience of the experts of the company
