Maad Koush Co. established in 2005 has put into effect, plans to build an iron ore concentrate pelletizing plant in Bandar Abass, a sea port off the coast off the Persian Gulf , in the Hormozgan province of Iran.

The plant is located in the Persian Gulf Mines and Metal Industries Special Economic Zone which is a zone mainly allocated for steel, aluminum, power generation and petrochemical industries.

The nominal capacity of the plant is set at 2.5 million tons of annual production of direct reduction grade oxide pellets. In addition, Maad Koush Co. has been licensed for the establishment of two such facilities. Total production capacity at these facilities would equal 5 million tons per year.

The feed material will be imported from abroad and will be stored at a special location in the zone. This material will then be transferred by trucks and belt conveyors to the pelletizing plant.
