The generation of Power by installing Gas Turbine Generators in a power plant constitutes a simple cycle (Open) Power Plant. In the gas turbine, air is drawn to compressor from ambient. Compressed air is then sent to combustion chamber where it helps in burning liquid or gaseous fuel. Hot gas produced after burning is then passed to the turbine where it expands and converts the thermal energy to mechanical energy which drives the generator and the compressor. Gas turbines typically consist of an axial-flow air compressor; one or more combustion chambers and a turbine drive section connected to a generator.
