Application
Ubenimex is a competitive and reversible protease inhibitor. It inhibits arginyl aminopeptidase (aminopeptidase b), leukotriene A4 hydrolase (zinc metalloproteinase showing epoxide hydrolase and aminopeptidase activity), alanyl aminopeptidase (aminopeptidase M / N), leucyl / cystinyl aminopeptidase (oxytocin / vasopressin enzyme) (leukotriene D4 hydrolase).
It is being studied for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia. It comes from Streptomyces olivoreticuli. Ubenimex has been found to inhibit the enzymatic degradation of oxytocin, vasopressin, enkephalin and various other peptides and compounds.
